Filip Telford (Chibs)
Chibs is a member of the Son’s of Anarchy and has always been one of the club’s most influential members. Chibs serves as Jax’s Vice President (VP) and after he dies, Chibs himself becomes President of the club.
Though Chibs doesn’t have a specific person from the bible that he embodies he does have a significant religious role. Chibs was born and raised in Ireland, and as a result he was raised an Irish Catholic. Chibs’ religion is a recurring theme throughout the show and is mentioned several times throughout the series. His catholicism is rarely criticised, though he does speak of it as though it is a burden to him. Even though he is a criminal, Chibs still believes in the teachings of his religion, and he often shares them with the club. His heart is weighed down by the sins he has committed to protect his club and his family.
"I was raised a catholic. Everything's a worry for me."
Even when people do criticize his religion they usually pay for it somehow. It is in these moments that we see his true connection to his catholic upbringing, as can be seen in his sarcastic response to a discriminatory joke made toward him (.gif above right). The club will usually stand up for Chibs and his belief system when it is threatened.
